We did the Gold Camp Road tour. WELL WORTH IT! The staff was super friendly and the guide did a great job of taking us down the mountain. We really got to experience the mountains and did some biking. It is all downhill and not to technical (though there were those on the trail doing far more than me) so it is great for any rider. Highlight of our trip! Thanks!
My son and I did the Bike Gold Camp tour. We enjoyed this because it was at our own pace and we could stop when we wanted to hike around. The views are amazing and there are very few other people which is nice. I think it was around 20 miles, but very easy downhill. The staff at the shop were all very nice and well organized. I would recommend this ride.
First time mountain biking and what a blast. Did the Gold Camp Road run. The folks at Pikes Peak Mountain Bike Tours made it a memorable time. Great equipment, easy to follow directions, and good advise to get the most out of the experience. Easy run. Take some water and a camera and you are ready to go!
We took the tour company's advice and did the Gold Camp ride instead of Pikes Peak and had a blast (even if two of us did wipe out during the ride - trying to go too fast!). The company was easy to work with and had great equipment and tips. We even hired a guide (despite this being a self-guided trip usually). It was worth it. We had a great ride down a beautiful trail. We highly recommend these guys!
We initially wanted to do the pikes peak bike tour but weren't able to do it due to the limited number of people available. We decided to do the bike gold camp self guided tour instead and it was the right decision! We really enjoyed it! The only thing we didn't prepare for was the warm clothes - even with freezing cold weather on top of the mountain with extremely cold wind as we are riding down (only wore a thin sweatshirt), we enjoyed it so much that the cold pain and numbness of our fingers / body were totally worth the experience!! :) if you enjoy mountain biking, we recommend 200%

Skill Level: All Abilities
Self-Guided, 99% Downhill
A completely independent alternative to our “Bike Pikes Peak” tour, this self-paced and self-guided exploration tour follows a historic 1800’s era mountain locomotive railway. This spectacular two to three hour downhill route traverses a vast canyon wall, passes through several exciting railroad tunnels and offers unforgettable vistas around every bend.
A well-established gravel path meanders through wild and primitive terrain throughout the ride. We provide all necessary equipment, including mountain transport and an easy-to-follow route map to return you safely back to our base shop.
This trip is great for families, large group excursions, and newlyweds (and oldlyweds!) who just want to get away from it all. Stop where you want, when you want, and take as long as you want. It’s all up to you!
