Our season begins in May and runs through August or September. This is all dependent on weather conditions and guide availability. Sometimes early and late in the season there can be problems with snow and ice. Therefore, we ask for you to be flexible with us on this. Rest assured we will not run a tour if it is unsafe!
Yes, we do offer both group discounts as well as multiple tour discounts. Please see our "Pricing" page for group pricing and the following for our multiple tour discount. If you book both tours with us, you will get 20% off the 20 Mile High Tour!!
Due to our comprehensive knowledge of the weather patterns on all of our routes, the decision to cancel a tour based upon what appears to be unsafe conditions is strictly our decision. This means that if we are seeing lightning or unsafe road conditions due to heavy rainfall or snow, we will cancel the tour. Keep in mind, other than what was explained above, we will bike rain or shine so come prepared for an adventure!
The only refunds that will be issued are if the tour operator decides to cancel the tour due to unsafe conditions. If this happens, you will have the choice between a full refund, or rebooking for a different day.
We provide bike pumps and tire tubes for each separate group. During the safety briefing on a self guided tour, we explain step by step how to change a bike tube. We also go over how your equipment works as well as the comprehensive map and the route you will follow.
Yes. A one time fee of $60.00 is assessed for hiring a guide on a tour which is normally self-guided. Guides must be requested at time of reservation so that they may be scheduled.
We meet at our shop 20 minutes before the departure time of the tour you have reserved. We sign release forms and fit you with helmets. We then load into our 15 passenger vans and head off for the tour. For our Bike Pikes Peak tour we begin by treating you to a delicious breakfast at the Manitou Pancake and Steak House. Then, we head off to the summit of beautiful Pikes Peak! When we reach the drop off point of either tour, we unload bikes, fit them to each rider, and go over a detailed safety briefing. Before or after the safety briefing is a great time to get some breathtaking pictures. Your guides are more than happy to help out with this! On a self-guided tour, you are able to embark on the journey any time after the safety briefing. Feel free to stop along the way for more great shots and travel at your own pace. On a guided tour, your guide will set the pace based on conditions and on the abilities of the riders on the tour.
Groups of 6 or more must give two weeks notice of cancellation. All other groups must give a one week notice. If we do not receive this notice, you will be charged 100% of the reservation cost.
The further in advance you book your tour the more likely you are to be able to secure the day you would like. We do accept last minute reservations; however we cannot guarantee there will be space available for your group. We accept reservations all year round so book now!
Reservations can be made anytime by calling 888-593-3062 or emailing us at reservations@bikepikespeak.com.
We accept cash, traveler's checks, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards. Personal checks require a 15 day advance payment.
